Raphaël Glucksmann, MEP from Place publique, expressed on Thursday, July 4 on France Inter his total and absolute solidarity with government spokesperson Prisca Thevenot and all victims of violence. Prisca Thevenot, a candidate for re-election in the Hauts-de-Seine, was attacked with her team during a poster pasting operation on Wednesday evening in Meudon.

Unanimous condemnation from the political class

Following this attack, the political class unanimously condemned this act of violence. Gabriel Attal reacted by stating that violence and intimidation have no place in our democracy.

Raphaël Glucksmann emphasized that politics should never result in physical violence, especially in a democracy. He expressed his concern about the atmosphere of tension and violence currently prevailing in France, describing it as a “pressure cooker.”
