First confrontation between the parties involved in the Nahel case in Nanterre

The first meeting between the different parties involved in the investigation into the death of Nahel in Nanterre took place on Monday, July 15 in the afternoon. According to Laurent-Franck Lienard, the lawyer of the police officer who shot Nahel, the confrontation began at 2 pm in the office of the investigating judges.

Two investigating judges are working to establish the exact circumstances of the teenager’s death. Nahel’s family is waiting for a trial to be held in order to be able to move on with their lives, as mentioned by a cousin of Nahel during a memorial march organized one year after the tragedy. The police officer, suspected of shooting Nahel, has been indicted for murder. He was released in November after four months of pre-trial detention, and is currently under judicial supervision.
