An inspector from the Bayonne SPA attacked in Saint-Jean-de-Luz
An inspector from the Bayonne SPA (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) was violently attacked by two women on Wednesday in Saint-Jean-de-Luz as she was going to their home, reports France Bleu Pays Basque on Friday, July 5.
The 67-year-old victim went, accompanied by a friend, to the home of two women in Saint-Jean-de-Luz after reports of mistreatment of their dog. “I barely had time to say “SPA,” that they attacked us very violently, true furies,” she testifies.
The inspector describes an extremely violent assault: “We were insulted and hit, we received punches, kicks, scratches… My head hit a wall, it was very physically violent. I had to stay in my car for a good half hour to regain my composure,” she continues.
Reactions and aftermath of the assault
Joëlle Turcat, co-president of the Society for the Protection of Animals in Bayonne, very shocked by this assault, reminded that the SPA does not come “to spy on people, but to have a dialogue and find solutions.” The victim received two days of total incapacity for work and will file a complaint. The Bayonne SPA will be a civil party.
