People who were watching the final of the men’s 100m at the Olympic Games, whether at the Stade de France or in front of their television, were surprised by the unexpected delay before the start of the race. The reasons for this wait were finally revealed.
An incident during the men’s 100m race at the Stade de France
A 24-year-old Australian man was taken into custody after trying to disrupt the men’s 100m race at the Stade de France (Seine-Saint-Denis) on Sunday evening, according to sources.
According to a source close to the case, this young man tried to enter the race track shortly before the start of the 100m, around 9:55 pm, wearing a t-shirt with “Free Palestine”, “Free Ukraine” and “Jesus” written on it. Law enforcement quickly reacted by intercepting him. It turns out that this young man had already disrupted a cricket match in India the previous year, also wearing a t-shirt calling for an end to bombings in Palestine. He was taken into custody for “entering a playing area of a sports facility disrupting the progress of a competition”.
On Sunday evening, while the nine runners of the men’s 100m had been ready to start for several minutes on the starting line, the wait before the start of the race had surprised the commentators and the spectators.
