70 Palestinians killed in Khan Younis as part of the Gaza Strip war, leading to the fleeing of thousands of city residents.

According to a statement released by the Israeli army, aerial and ground operations were carried out to neutralize individuals described as terrorists in the region.

The tragedy continues in Gaza

The situation is not improving in Gaza, where at least 70 Palestinians have lost their lives and more than 200 have been injured in Israeli occupation attacks in the Khan Younes governorate. These attacks have been ongoing since the morning until now, according to information from the Ministry of Health of the Hamas-led government on Monday, July 22.

Thousands of people had to flee urgently after a military evacuation order. The Israeli army did not immediately respond to AFP’s requests for comments, but stated in a press release that they had carried out bombings and eliminated terrorists in the region.

“Gaza is finished”

Outside the Nasser hospital in Khan Younes, the scenes are heartbreaking. Men, women, and children are being transported, dead or injured, under the helpless gaze of medical staff. Cries of pain and despair echo, as a man holds the lifeless body of a baby, a woman collapses in grief, and others, covered in blood, wander aimlessly.

The Israeli army had withdrawn from Khan Younes in April, after months of clashes with Hamas. However, they ordered the population to leave the eastern part of the city again, preparing for a new operation against terrorist organizations following rocket fire towards Israel.

The people of Gaza are exhausted, living in inhumane conditions, without security. The repeated forced evacuations exacerbate their despair, as witnessed by Hassan Qoudayh, forced to flee with his family once again. Youssef Abou Taimah, displaced for the fourth time, expresses his dismay at this unbearable situation.
